Enabling Pop

How to Enable Pop In Gmail: |
| |
|
| 1. |
Sign in to Gmail. |
| 2. |
Click Settings at the top of any Gmail page. |
| 3. |
Click Forwarding and POP/IMAP. |
| |
|
| |
 |
| |
|
| 4. |
Select Enable POP for all mail or Enable POP for mail that arrives from now on. |
| 5. |
Choose what to do with your messages after they're accessed with your POP client or device. |
| 6. |
Configure your POP client* and click Save Changes. |

To configure Thunderbird for your Gmail address: |
| |
|
| 1. |
Enable POP in your email account. Don't forget to click Save Changes when you're done. |
| 2. |
Open Thunderbird. |
| 3. |
Click the Tools menu, and select Account Settings... |
| 4. |
Click the Add Account... button to launch Account Wizard. |
| 5. |
Select Gmail, and click Next. |
| 6. |
Fill in the necessary fields to include the following information: |

Your Name: Enter your name as you would like it to appear in the From: field of outgoing messages. |

Email Address:Enter your Gmail username (everything before @gmail.com). |

Click Next, then click Finish. |

| 8. |
On the Server Settings tab in the Account Settings window, uncheck the box next to Leave messages on server. |

Congratulations! You're done configuring your client to send and retrieve Gmail messages. |
